Helping Your Horse Develop Strength, Suppleness and Balance

To promote soundness for their future.

Equine massage therapy, rehabilitation support, and training guidance to enhance connection between horse and rider.

Does your horse….

  • Feel stiff or resistant in their work? No matter what you do nothing seems to work

  • Struggle to flex in one direction? You’ve tried lots of different bits with no real improvement

  • Feel uneven or unbalanced? You worry it’s your fault and your riding isn’t good enough

  • Show signs of tension or discomfort? You think your horse is just being difficult and you can’t seem to break the cycle.

These can often be signs your horse’s body needs support.

My Approach

Massage therapy is only one piece of the puzzle. To support long-term improvement, I offer groundwork and ridden sessions alongside treatments.

These sessions are designed to help horses develop:

  • Straightness

  • Balance

  • Suppleness

  • Relaxation in their movement

When horses learn to move correctly, they avoid overloading joints and placing unnecessary stress on the muscular system, which supports both performance and long-term soundness.

I believe the secret to a successful outcome is to work alongside my clients offering support and accountability when needed. I look at the horse as a whole, a holistic approach, and it is the collaborative approach from vet, physiotherapist, farrier, Bodyworker that results in success.

Claire and her gorgeous thoroughbred Artie started working with me 18 months ago. As a former racehorse Artie lacked the understanding and muscle development needed to help him improve his balance and suppleness which resulted in him becoming tense and sometimes anxious under saddle. After working with me over the last year together they have achieved goals Claire had only dreamed of. Artie has become stronger and more confident in his work allowing him to show his true potential.

Sarah has been dedicated and consistent with supporting Goldie in between our sessions with the exercises I gave her which has really deepened her knowledge and confidence in building a solid foundation for them to go forwards with. They are now enjoying going out to clinics and trips to the gallops.

Why Choose Us

I qualified (Itech Diploma with the late Mary Bromiley) as a Massage therapist over ten years ago and have since built up my knowledge with many CPD courses such as Myofascial Release, Equine Kinesiology, Cupping, Equine Biomechanics and Dissections.

I am a BHSII instructor and coach riders of all competition levels at eventing and dressage. Combining competition experience, my deep understanding in equine anatomy and biomechanics and the ability to release tension in horse’s musculoskeletal system offers my clients a unique approach that covers all areas.

I believe that consistency, patience and the ability to think outside the box is what brings success and this is something I give my clients.

Sarah contacted me after her lovely horse Goldie injured himself in the field. I treated Goldie regularly with bodywork followed by some ridden/ pole sessions to help them further in developing strength and balance. Goldie has become so much stronger in his frame with improved balance and straightness which has helped to improve his concentration and confidence in his work.

About Me

I’m Annabelle Evans

Horses have been my passion since I was a child, and I have been fortunate enough to have had some amazing horses over the years. I spent many years competing at eventing up to intermediate level and latterly British dressage to Medium and Regional level, this has given me a broad in depth understanding of what it takes to keep competition horses fit and sound.

We run a small family yard in Hampshire and offer rehabilitation livery which I feel is a privilege to be a part of. Owners send their beloved horses to me often straight from the hospital. Looking after horses post injury or surgery involves reassuring them and spending time keeping them comfortable and happy in what can be a stressful situation for them.

My interest in rehab began years ago when my young event horse fractured his pedal bone and needed extensive box rest and a structured plan back to work. We met many obstacles along the way, but we got through it together and went on to enjoy many years of fun and success.
